Art Davis III's Sweet Italian Sausage with Green Tomatoes

That's right, green tomatoes.  Forget red tomatoes, this recipe brings out the full natural flavor like Nature intended.

Ingredients

12 sweet Italian sausages
1 large zucchini, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
2-3 green tomatoes, cut into small wedges
1 finely sliced onion
1 handful of sliced mushrooms
2 tbsp. cooking oil (olive is best)
2 tbsp. red wine vinegar

Sear on high then pan fry the sausages covered on low until they're fully cooked and retain all juices.  Salt and pepper to taste, along with garlic powder.

Saute the tomatoes and all remaining ingredients in the vinegar and oil until tender.

Combine on the plate, and bon appetit.

Serve with your favorite bread or pasta and wine.

Art Davis III's Chop Suey Meatloaf

Buy a big can of La Choy chop suey veggies with the gravy, and knead it into 2 lbs. hamburger.  Add minced onion, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika (optional), sage (optional), 1-2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce,  1 cup bread crumbs, 2 raw eggs, and salt-pepper to taste, then bake at 350F until done (1 hour).  The veggies disintegrate and create a delicious fusion with the meat.  It's okay to cut the hamburger down and substitute with sausage.  Serves 6-8.

Why I Love Capital Natural Gas Ranges Copyright by T.L. Winslow (TLW). All Rights Reserved.

Are The Prices For Capital Ranges Too High?

$6,000 - $7,000 - even more - for a *!?!* kitchen stove? Only how many hundred a month? For a kitchen appliance?

Yes, they're pricey, these Capital brand ranges. But it's not like you're purchasing a work of art either: it's a tool.

Are the prices for Capital ranges great deals, great savings, even sales prices?

No!

If you prefer to eat microwaved TV dinners or eat out all the time, and don't like cooking.

If you like stoves whose burners are uncontrollable, ovens whose handles flop open onto your knees, or have unpredictable results, making every meal a surprise.

Yes!  If you realize that you get what you pay for.

Seriously, pure stainless steel lasts like, forever, and how many pounds was that?

When your guests accidentally brush by the range while it's cooking and don't even know it because the handles are so cool, you called it right.

When your steaks are perfectly seared yet rare in the center like the guests like it, how expensive was it?

When your neighbor's $1,200 range explodes and goes on fire, and they have to junk it for another $1,200 range, did you pay too much for yours, which will still be in perfect condition when your grandkids inherit it?

When everybody in the neighborhood bends over backwards to get an invite to your parties, did the dent in your wallet disappear?

How many barbecues will it take to amortize the cost of the range vis a vis visits to that expensive BBQ restaurant in the suburbs?

How many meals will it take to amortize the cost of the range vis a vis Burger King or McDonald's?

How many succulent meats and their delicious smells will it take to make you realize that the Capital Precision range is not an expenditure but an investment?

Speaking of getting what you pay for, think of the resale value if you should ever decide to part with it. It's like you cooked on it for free. Like free coupons to a fine restaurant.

Capital ranges aren't mass-produced on a Ford Motor Company style production line complete with conveyor belts and union workers, sorry. It's about fine craftsmanship and precision, about elegance.

The bottom line is that you truly get what you pay for.

A capital idea.

The History Of The Capital Range Company

Capital Cooking Equipment Inc., known as the Capital range company is a corporation headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, Calif. It is truly one of the great American success stories, about an immigrant who braved years of hardship to achieve his dream.

Capital Cooking Equipment Inc. is a private company that was founded in 2001. The corp Web site is at http://www.capital-cooking.com/

According to company founder Surjit Kalsi, the company's motto is "We don't make products so we can catch up to the competition. We engineer products that will surpass everything on the market."

Born in India, Surjit Kalsi's career of pioneering five-star high-end all stainless steel stoves and barbecues began back in 1956, when he graduated from Bombay University in India. He then emigrated to London, where he joined Main Gas Appliance Company, going on to invent the first dual-flow gas burner, self-cleaning gas oven, and electric ignition system.

After several years in that business Surjit ended up in Los Angeles, where he worked as vice-president of R&D for U.S. Range, and met stove entrepreneur Fred Carl Jr., who worked with him to launch in 1985 the fine line of Viking Ranges, the first commercial range certified for household use.

Until then, commercial ranges were unsuitable for home use because of their unusual dimensions, lack of safety features, broiling capability, etc. Many innovations were needed before one could be certified for home use.

In 1988 Surjit and Fred parted ways. Carl moved to his hometown of Greenwood, Mississippi, while Kalsi stayed in California and founded Dynamic Cooking Systems, introducing an all-stainless steel barbecue, reaching $100 million in sales by 2000. Viking Range's Web site is at vikingrange.com

In 2001 Capital Cooking Equipment Inc. was founded in Santa Fe Springs, California by a group led by his son Rich Kalsi, and Surjit became chairman, CEO, and president in 2004, designing a revolutionary new sealed burner system.

Capital's range line includes the Culinarian, the Maestro, and the Precision series. They also manufacture the Precision, Performance, and Professional series of outdoor grills, and the Performance series of steel drawers.

According to Surjit, Capital doesn't merely manufacture run-of-the-mill appliances. It meticulously designs, engineers, and handcrafts every product in its line. They appliances they make perform efficiently, and last for generations. Their brand of engineering goes beyond the application of science alone, with a timeless artistic quality and a criterion of high excellence.

Capital was built on the innovation of its founders, and endures today on the ingenuity of its employees, who are all expected to keep the tradition alive.

How To Effectively Cook With A Capital 36 Gas Range

The Capital 36 inch gas range is the cook's dream, the king of kitchen appliances.

Cooking with its 19,000 BTU sealed Power-Flo burners is more like a religious experience than a humdrum chore.

The 18,000 BTU Thermo-Griddle turns your kitchen into a Waffle House restaurant.

The 18,000 BTU Infra-Q infrared BBQ grill turns it into a BBQ house.

The 30,000 BTU Power-Wok burner will bake anything up to a fossilized geoduck.

The 4.6 cu. ft. oven cavity can hold enough for any family of four.

Too bad, they still don't sell robot cooks. Like any other skill, it must be learned through practice, practice, and more practice.

Sorry, we're fresh out of videos showing Emeril Lagasse demonstrating our product.

What Are the Advantages of a Capital Precision Range?

The purchase of a commercial quality household kitchen range is one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make. It will literally get you where you live. A satisfying purchase will not only reward you for the coming years, but likely be passed on to future generations.

Here's the main advantages of a Capital Precision range:

1. Sublime elegance of design and form, fit, and finish makes cooking an existential experience, creating a distance with other mere ranges.

2. Smooth-top continuous cast iron grates with easy-to-clean matte porcelain finish.

3. 18,000 BTU infrared broiler behind glass.

4. 30,000 BTU oven for uniform baking.

5. 19,000 BTU Power-Flo sealed burners.

6. 30,000 BTU power wok burner with 140 degree simmer.

7. Thermo-griddle.

What Are the Disadvantages of a Capital Precision Range?

1. Pricey. If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

2. Stainless steel collects smudges and fingerprints.

3. There are far cheaper cooking products - oh, already mentioned that.

4. After installing a 30 inch, 36 inch, or 48 inch, all you can think about is how great the 60 inch range would be.

5. The company could possibly go out of business, making it hard to obtain parts and service - same problem sports car owners face.

6. Need to protect it from stainless steel thieves - the economy is in the dregs right now and scrap yards pay by the pound.

7. Might need to start a diet after gorging on all the roasts, chops, steaks, chickens, ducks, ribs, flapjacks, bacon and eggs, and other yummies you cooked on it.

8. If you turn vegetarian it will become an expensive wok and tea-making machine.
